Education: I am currently completing my Honours Degree in Corporate Brand and Communications Management. I have completed my bachelors degree in B.Com Communications Management with all marketing and branding subjects. Both degrees are / will be obtained from the North-West University's Potchefstroom Campus. Career Objectives: My final career objective is to serve as a Corporate Brand Manager for a national or international company. I am eager to gain experience that will aid as a stepping stone towards achieving this goal. Leadership Abilities: I am currently the Marketing and Communications Officer for our campus' chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society. During this term I have gained valuable experience in arranging promotional events, coordinating the manufacturing and design of promotional material, initiating and orchestrating liaison tours, stakeholder analysis and strategy, liaising with top management of the North-West University, courtesy calls to the NWU campus rector and accountability reporting to national management. In addition, the team of which I was the leader in most instances placed first in many cases and second in others, in all marketing and communications plans and projects constructed for industry based clients throughout my bachelors and postgraduate studies. I also gained valuable experience serving on my university's Student Representative Council as a journalist for the independent campus newspaper. Own Business: I successfully launched my own profit generating Tutoring Agency where I recruited students from my university and matched them with scholars that need help in subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Accounting. While making a profit is one of the key components of any successful enterprise, my primary objective for starting The Tutoring Agency was to gain experience in working with and empowering people in a professional environment and so contributing to the economy. Due to increasing postgraduate academic demands I was forced to discontinue The Tutoring Agency's services after a successful year. Memberships: I am a member of Golden Key International Honour Society. The top 15% undergraduate students of faculties in participating tertiary institions are invited to become members of this society on an annual basis. I am also a student member of PRISA (Public Relations Institute of South Africa). Design Capabilities: I am well versed in design programs (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Freehand) and do freelance designing on a part time basis. Other Employment: I am an Academic Assistant for one of the Communication Studies Lecturers at my university, where I complete the tasks of observing the writing of tests and marking tests and assignments (first & second year level) as well as doing general administrative work. Interests: I love traveling and broadening my knowledge of other people and their cultures. Other interests and activities include Spanish Dancing, big cities, art galleries, theater, fashion, vintage cars and good company. |
